Another good day

Another good day after a good nights sleep and mom's enjoying watching dad go through all the "stuff" that we brought back from Houston. He has all the medicine and supplies organised, like we would have expected anything less. After cleaning out the refrigerator, dad is now off to the grocery store to replenish. It's amasing how stuff goes bad when you've been gone for almost two months, especially when they didn't expect to be going anywhere.

Mom was able to enjoy time with both my kids last night and even a visit from the grand dog, Mandi today. That's all the update for now. Thanks as always for continued prayers as we start a new chemo drug this next week. Stacey

  1. Hi Guys!
I am going to try again to post this comment. It tried yesterday on Mom's computer and it wouldn't let me get on. So we'll see how this goes!

Welcome Home! I can't imagine how good it must feel to be in your own space again! We are anxious to see you! I'll give you a call to see when we can work in some visiting time! As always, I will keep the prayers going strong for additional recovery from the chemo treatments and a good beginning to the new drugs next week! Please know you are my hero, Cheryl! You've shown such strength and courage as you fight this battle! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers every moment of every day!

It is good to be in Soldier again even though it is hot and humid. It is still not as hot as Phoenix and the myth about it being a dry heat is just that--a myth!! Today Mom, Emily and I went to Holton and Topeka. Of course, we took Mom to Long John's Silver's for lunch! We are gearing up for the Smith Reunion on Sunday. Patti called last night to tell us that Anita had fallen at the assistant care facility and they thought she had a broken hip and broken wrist. I talked to Greg today and they don't think she broke her hip which is good news! Patti may not come on Sunday, but Greg will be there and Brian and Jen, Maddie and Mason will be coming as well.

The garden behind your house is doing well. Doug has been watering it when needed. The corn is just beginning to tassle and he brought down a tomato yesterday! It was soooo good! Till we see you soon, Mom and I send all our love to you!! Barb

  2. Dear Smiths-
So glad that you are home sweet home!! And what a blessing that is! Wonderful that the doctors are on the ball and that you are getting treatment so quick here....awesome! We will be praying that the lung clots disolve quickly and cause no problems. We are getting ready for VBS this week and also a mission here in Soldier...instead of working in Mexico this year, we are going to do "mission work" here in Soldier....it is very exciting. Emily and I have been working on painting the Methodist Church here and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger! :-) Glad to hear that Cheryl is eating a bit more everyday. Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going, what prayer needs you have and if there is anything we can do for you here. Have a wonderful weekend! Love, Laura
