Cheryl's blood counts today were: platelets 47 vs. 38 last week (normal is 140 to 440), hemoglobin 11.4 vs. 8.2 last week (normal is 12 to 16), white count 5.7 vs. 5.3 last week (normal is 4.0 to 11). The platelets weren't high enough (80) to get scheduled chemo. The doctor gave Cheryl the option to get half a dose but she decided to wait a week and hopefully get a full dose next week. The last time Cheryl got a half dose with her platelets at 71, it was three weeks before she could get another dose. Another reason for waiting was that Cheryl has been very tired the last three days since getting blood on Monday in spite of her hemoglobin being the highest I can remember. It's hard to make these important decisions when there is just no way to know for sure what is best.
Next Thursday, Cheryl is scheduled for a CT scan to determine how well her treatment is working. Keep thinking 80+ and good results from the scan. Thank you so much for your continued support. Ron
