Cheryl Is At Rest Now

After the move to the hospital bed, Cheryl began to breath easier as the pain medicine took effect. With many of her family at her side, about 4:30 this afternoon she just stopped breathing. I'm thankful it was so peaceful at the end. And now she is experiencing the ultimate peace. Thank you for being on this journey with her. Ron

Update 2

Cheryl became even weaker this morning. She was no longer able to sit up on the side of the bed let alone stand up. The Hospice nurse came and the hospital bed is in place. We had to call the fire department to move her from her bed to the hospital bed. The move was very painful. The nurse gave her pain medicine which is helping. Stacey came over this morning to help with all of this. Jasmine and Jaden left school this afternoon to be here. Michelle, June, Daryl, and Kent are coming. Breathing is extremely hard for her and she is barely concious enough to talk to us. Please keep Cheryl in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through this difficult time. Thank you. Ron

Update

It has been a difficult few days since the meeting with the doctor on Thursday. Michelle took off work on Friday and came down to be with her mother on Friday and Saturday. She started a two week Service Dog class on Sunday. Stacey also took off work Friday afternoon and has been here every day. June, Daryl and spouses were here for a visit on Sunday.

Cheryl's physical strength has become less each day. She is having difficulty standing from her recliner and is short of breath after any physical activity. It is scary how hard she has to work just to breath and it takes several minutes for her to recover and her heart and breathing to slow down to a more normal rate. We are having to use the wheel chair to move her short distances within the appartment, something we haven't had to do the past several months. She still eats a little but it has become less each day. She did not feel well enough to sit up in a chair today for the first time in a long time. She decided to cancel her blood work appointment for tomorrow. She just wants to stay at home. It is too much effort for her to go anywhere.

Stacey contacted Hospice today and they are coming over this afternoon to evaluate our situation and develop a care plan. Cheryl and our whole family appreciate so much your support and prayers. We feel your love and know it will help us through this difficult time. Ron
