24 hour post chemo
Had a great day - feeling great except of course shortness of breath when up and around - try to busy myself with low energy projects. The 24 hour post chemo joint pain is starting to kick up but I can handle it with meds and knowing I DID get chemo. Looking forward to softball this weekend and I WILL be there for 2 of her games tomorrow and then some Sunday. Jasmine (16) will be working both days at the Hallmark Gold Store at Oak Park Mall. She is football manager (head water girl) for Shawnee Mission West. She actually drove to Leavenworth tonight taking other girls and Grandpa/Grandma a little nervous. She is very careful and had to take over doing things while her mom was in Texas with us (got license in April). She is also right there when grandma needs help to go somewhere. Well, this is more than I intended to write but I like talking to my friends. Love to all, Cheryl

Close counts
Whoever said "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades" was wrong. It counts in blood counts too. Platelet count 72 today and they gave me a FULL dose of chemo. Doc thinks I may have to have chemo every other week instead of regular regime. Hemoglobin came up also to 9.1 so I don't need blood at present. The shortness of breath may very well be due to the fact that my legs have gone down 2 - 4 inches each. The fluid has to go through the heart to be pumped out and that is making my heart work harder. Doing pretty well with increase in oxygen and spreading out activities is workable. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS!

Ho Hum!
Not much going on - just waiting until Thursday gets here. Having more shortness of breathe so know my blood counts (hemoglobin) is low. Will probably at least need some blood - want to get chemo though. Leg therapy is going well - go to P.T. twice a week and Ron gets to unwrap and rewrap legs twice a day at home. Ron is going to see his mom this afternoon in Topeka - is doing better. One of the grandkids will stay here with me. Looking forward to watching Jaden's first softball this weekend. Stacey is also having a jewelry party at our clubhouse Saturday night. Don't how much I'll be able to do but you can be sure I'll see some softball. Think 80!
