Off to Soldier

Cheryl got 2 units of blood on Friday. It takes about 6 hours and wears me out even though all I do is sit in a crowded room all day. After we got home I picked up Jaden from school at 3 PM and all three of us took a long nap.

Cheryl says she is feeling a little stronger this morning. It's hard for me to relate to a hemoglobin of 7.0, mine was 14.0 three weeks ago when my blood was tested as part of my annual physical. I hope her hemoglobin is higher today, but it usually only goes up to 9.0 or so even after two units of blood. Anyway, she says she feels up to traveling so we are now packing for the trip up to Soldier. This is only our second venture out of KC since returning from Houston and we are both looking forward to it. If Cheryl feels up to it we are planning to attend church. We look forward to seeing some of you there and thank you for your support. Don't forget, Cheryl reads every blog comment, email and card and she would love to hear from you. Ron

What a bummer of a day!

Well, we went to the clinic today - lots of disappointing news. Platelets went from 71 to 24, so could not get treatments again. Also hemaglobin went from 8.7 to 7.0 in one week. Am scheduled to get 2 units of blood in the am. Also my new PICC line is inflammed and have to take antibiotics now. Probably looking down the road to have a port inserted in my chest.

Am feeling good, I could tell my blood count was down this mmorning becase my legs hurt and I was having some shortness of breath - should feel much better tomorrow. Want to get out of town and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend.

A New Week Is Here

Well, it's Monday! Still feeling good, a few joint aches either from all the rainy weather or over doing things. Went to grocery store, what a sight, Ron pushes me and I push the cart - still do not have it mastered yet! He about had a heart attack, he takes the groceries to the car and then comes back to get me, but I found I can get that wheelchair going and I turned up at the car to surprise him. Good for arm strengthening. We also had a few errands to do that I could stay in the car. When all done we went to pick up Jaden who started 9th grade today. Jasmine started football practice today - she is a water girl and this is her 3rd year doing it. Not too many girls get a letter in football. She loves it and gets to know the boys alot better. Since we helped raise the girls it's like having teens all over again.

Not a very eventful week coming up until Thursday - want to try to go to Soldier this weekend. Sure appreciate your cards and especially the prayers. I want to thank Nancy, Jan, Marion and Dan for adding comments for the first time - love to hear from more of you!

God bless each one of you! Cheryl
