Hello there. This is Cheryl and I am actually writting my first post, although Stacey is typing for me. It's been great having a couple of extra days out of the hospital, as chemo starts tomorrow.
For starters I have enjoyed my daughters here with me. As Michelle left, Stacey arrived. Friday night, Ron, Stacey and I stayed up til 1:30am watching an old movie about the 1919 White Sox Scandal. Then yesterday I got my hair cut, although it's extremely short, it won't shed like it has been. Even Ron got his hair cut and Stacey says she took off as much hair as she left on. Then we went on a tour of Houston in search of a Red Lobster. It is one of the family's favorite even though it did take us about 30 minutes to finally find it. It was definitely worth it and left overs will make for good dinners to come. After we left there, we headed to the grocery store (at 10:30pm!) and I even got to go in. I had a good time being able to get out and about.
I am feeling stronger and can actually focus my eyes enough to read. My brain cells are working much better now! Today, we haven't planned what to do yet, but it won't be too much. We'll go out to eat again later, maybe Applebee's. I will try wearing my wig for the first time and see how it goes. My K-State head wrap went over very well yesterday. I even got waves from a little boy at the grocery store!
I want to thank everyone for their cards, flowers, and especially all the prayers. A big thank you to my mom, Chuck, Daryl and Joy for making the long journey last weekend to come and see me. I want to thanks my daughters who have put their own lives on hold to be with me and the support of their families and friends in taking care of their children. Especially I want to thank my husband, who has been here through thick and thin, knowing when to simply hold my hand. He is my rock and I love him VERY much! Most importantly, I need to thank GOD, for his blessings and watching over me.
God bless you all, Cheryl

Beatiful!
ReplyDeleteHey Sis; we're home from Minnesota and the first thing I wanted to do was get on your blog even though we spoke by phone earlier today. So glad you enjoyed getting out & about on Saturday although I would never be able to stay up as late as you! Putting something in the mail to you tomorrow that we think will look cool on you but how can one top a KSU headwrap??? Our prayers will be with you as you start round 2 tomorrow. Let's go for a TKO.
ReplyDeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to read your blog, Cheryl and thanks to Stacey for typing it for you! What a great weekend you have had! Please know our prayers are with you as you go in for round two tomorrow. You are an old hand now and I will be praying that the chemo goes as it should and that you hold up well under it. I'll be praying for Ron and Stacey, too, as they go through it with you. May you feel God's love close to you these days to come!
Love,
Barb
