Already 24 hours into chemo

24 hours and counting and mom is still feeling pretty good. She actually typed the email this morning at dad's request, but prefers just to dictate to me. Mom has been sitting up quite a bit and has even slept less than I have today. Mainly because they wouldn't get me a sleeper chair so I slept on the hard floor. It was more comfortable than the chair although cold and hard. The morning nurse got right on it today and as I said, I have slept more than mom today.

Mom hs already gone for a walk after dinner and we are planning to go again here in a little bit. Although we don't go far, it is good exercise for her - and me. Updating the blog today has been difficult as both dad and my computer would not hook into the internet. We found out that only
so many people can be on the internet at one time, so evenings are going to be out best bet.

Mom has continued to do well with eating and so far (knock on wood) she has not had ANY nausea thus far with either round of chemo. This continues to be a big fear for her as well as all of us, but the medications they are giving to keep that from happening are very good and thankfully doing their job.

Thanks for all the continued thoughts and prayers. Stacey

  1. Word to the wise: don't log off the Internet once you get access! Keep sis walking and exercising as much as possible. That may be a key to making this round easier. Will be anxious to find out if the popsicle idea works for preventing the mouth sores. It worked for a co-worker's husband but sounds like it would have to be often to keep the mouth cold to prevent sores from developing.
