Three day weekend!
We left town Saturday am for a fun weekend. We stopped in Topeka at my brother's house where all of the guys were getting ready to go to he KSU game. Since my sister-in-law had the job of babysitting the twins all day, my mom, Chuck and I had come to help entertain them or just the reverse. Ron left me there and went to Holton to visit his mom who has been in the hospital almost 2 weeks. She was not doing too well that day. Saturday evening we went to my mom's house to spend the night. Attempted to go to church Sunday but my stomach was upset and had lots of pain, so just went back to bed. Got up feeling much better and a little of my mom's cooking helped that. We went on up to Linn to help celebrate Michelle's 40th birthday. She was sick with a cold so the celebrating was pretty mellow. Enjoyed seeing the girls and Ron enjoyed being outside with them. We came back this pm, stopped to see Ron's mom and found her awake and more alert. Ron's sister, Barb, arrived from Phoenix yesterday to help out. It is good to be back home, but we had a good weekend. Have to double check but looks like my chemo is scheduled for this Friday insta of Thursday. Keep 80 in your minds! Thanks, Cheryl

Was great seeing you for a short time Saturday before we left for Manhappiness. You looked really good in your white scarf with purple polka dots (Go Cats)! Sorry you didn't feel well Sunday but chemo will do that to you and guess you know that by now. Too bad Michelle wasn't feeling well on her birthday but advanced age (40, don't we wish) can do that to you! Glad to hear Phyllis was doing better last evening. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are doing great!!! Sounds like a fun week end.!! We will all pray for the "80" for Thursday. I saw Phyllis a couple of times last week. Sure do hope they can get her to feeling better. She is a wonderful prize, in my opinion !! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear that you got away for the weekend, had such a good time, and were able to enjoy your mom's food, Cheryl, which I know is comforting as well as delicous! It's fun to read your brother's sense of humor each entry, and to think of him as an adult, because I remember him as a cute, skinny little kid! I'll be thinking "80" every day, and Ron, I hope your mother is doing better. All good wishes to everyone.
